The Eragon film was produced at 20th Century Fox and released in 2006 was received poorly with a dismal with $250 million earnings at the box office against a budget of $100 million, fans have desired a television series. With the acquisition of Fox by Disney, the rights were transferred. In 2021, a massive social media campaign was launched to convince Disney to create a tv series. Author Christopher Paolini confirmed its development on July 25, 2022.[1]
